About the Artist
I’m an artist working mainly in textured acrylics, oils and wax pencil, creating pieces that explore solitude, movement, and emotional connection.
Recurring themes appear throughout my work — especially the image of a solitary fisherman in a yellow jacket. He’s a quiet symbol of how I often feel: small but steady, drifting through vast and sometimes overwhelming spaces. That sense of being both adrift and at peace in the world underpins many of my seascapes and abstract works.
I’m deeply inspired by the work of Monet, Pissarro, and Van Gogh — artists who painted with feeling as much as form. Their use of light, movement and emotion through texture continues to influence how I approach the canvas today.
Blue is central to much of what I create — not just as a colour, but as a mood. From deep oceans and storm skies to still, expansive moments of calm, I’m drawn to the contrast between energy and stillness, chaos and clarity.
There’s also a playful undercurrent in my work, with occasional nods to 90s visual culture — smiley faces and bold, emotive forms that hint at joy, nostalgia and freedom. These sit alongside the more meditative pieces, creating a rhythm across the collection.
Each artwork is layered with thought, texture and feeling — a response to the world around me, and a way of making sense of where I fit within it.
